# Yisha

Yisha ([@_yisha._](https://www.instagram.com/_yisha._/)) is from
[Kathmandu](/places/kathmandu.md) and shows Harry around it. She chooses where
they go, and Pashupatinath — the visit that anchors the video — was her
suggestion rather than his; he says at the end that he wouldn't have gone
otherwise.

She is Newar, has been to both Pashupatinath and Varanasi, and is a
considerably tougher critic than Harry: through a six-course tasting menu she
rates courses one to two points below him every time, and he keeps needling her
about it. The detail he finds most impressive all evening is that she can taste
that the rice is Nepali rather than Indian.

She also handles the parts of the day he can't — translating, correcting his
pronunciation, teaching him *kati hoyo* for "how much", and standing by while
he negotiates a taxi down from 700 to 400 with, in her assessment, room to
spare.
