# Get the Jordan Pass

Harry recommends buying the Jordan Pass when travelling to
[Jordan](/countries/jordan.md). [Petra](/places/petra.md) entry is included
and is "one of the main reasons to get the Jordan Pass" — a day ticket
otherwise costs around 40–50 (from video – unverified), so the pass largely
pays for itself with that single visit.

**The visa is inside it**, which is the part worth knowing before you fly rather
than after: the pass covers entry to the country as well as the sites, so it is
bought in advance rather than on arrival.

## How Harry applies it

He recommends it **within his first ten minutes in the country**, standing at a
Roman theatre in [Amman](/places/amman.md) whose entry it covers, and puts the
cost at around £100 — while saying on camera that he isn't sure of the figure and
will correct it on screen (from video – unverified). He and
[Mac](/people/mac.md) then entered [Petra](/places/petra.md) free of extra charge
on the same passes, which is where the arithmetic actually lands: a Petra day
ticket alone runs 40–50.

So the pass is doing two different jobs across the trip — a visa and a bundle of
site entries — and the sites it covers start on day one in the capital, not at
Petra.
