He sets out to give what he calls the honest guide to it. What follows is a day of riding a rented bike in one direction and seeing where it goes: a baker firing his oven with discarded coconut shells, a village built on stilts over a mangrove swamp where the houses flood at high tide, a beach that isn't on Google Maps, a coconut picked from ten metres up by a man who climbs the trunk barefoot, and a roadside lechon manok stall.
