# King Dillip and Prince Harry Explore Nepal🇳🇵

Harry hires [Dilip](/people/dilip.md), a [Pokhara](/places/pokhara.md) taxi
driver, for a whole day with no meter running and no price agreed — he says
outright that at this point he is paying for the entertainment. Dilip drives
him round the sights and the not-quite-sights of the city, waits at the bottom
of every hill, and takes him home at the end to meet his family.

The structural lesson of the day is the pair of stops at the start. Devi's
Fall, the city's advertised waterfall, is viewed through bars from a platform
where Harry cannot see the water at all and says so. Directly across the road,
Gupteshwor Mahadev cave costs 100 rupees, drops about a hundred metres
underground, and comes out at the bottom of that same waterfall — which he
calls the best thing he has done in [Nepal](/countries/nepal.md) so far. Same
water, two hundred metres apart, and the ticketed viewpoint is the worse one.

Running through it: Harry keeps buying Dilip things — a cap, sunglasses, a
coffee, a woven basket — and Dilip keeps refusing them, until the 10,000 rupees
at the end.
