# I Ignored Western Media and Went to Burkina Faso 🇧🇫

with the world's youngest head of state, Captain Ibrahim Traoré — to see
daily life behind the headlines. Immigration is easy but filming is not:
police stop him in the market, search his footage, and ban public filming.
Locals — his driver Joseph, students, a displaced father — explain why
Traoré is loved: taxes on foreign miners, anti-corruption, free maternity
and under-five healthcare, and kicking out the French military. Harry gives
200,000 CFA francs to a family displaced by the jihadist insurgency that
still controls much of the country outside the capital. Then he drives

way — to an informal gold mine (gold is the engine of the economy) and the
